The City of Cockburn’s Family and Community Development team are seeking an energetic, motivated and committed individual of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background to join the team and contribute to the ongoing strengthening of relationships between the City of Cockburn and the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

This role will support the development of various initiatives across the community and the organisation, through training, events, projects and programs, to achieve a high level of cultural competency and to work with others to ensure outcomes in the City’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) are achieved.

The successful applicant will possess:

- Qualifications and/or relevant experience in community services, community development or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and developing networks and relationships.
- Experience in community engagement, specifically with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, in order to identify interests, needs and goals.
- Experience or capacity to contribute to the development of the City’s Strategic Reconciliation Action Plan, and to deliver and achieve relevant outcomes in the Implementation Plan.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating events, and community development or community-based projects.
- Demonstrated strong standard of written skills and sound organisational and time management skills
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills
- Under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act, Aboriginality is an essential criterion.

**Salary**: $81,421 - $86,453 per annum (pro-rata) depending on qualifications and experience.

**Days/Hours**: This position is part-time at 30 hours per week.
