Your key responsibilities
You will be required to fulfil the responsibilities of the Clinical Assistant role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service Values, and to:
Adhere to defined quality standards, including the health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces
Possess or be able to rapidly acquire knowledge and skills in the receipting, labelling, verifying, processing, registration and delivery of both patient-related and public health samples to internal laboratories
Possess accurate data entry skills within a LIMS (Laboratory Information System) and be proficient in Excel
Prioritise urgent specimens for processing
Ability to perform duties while working in a multi-skilled and multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively with peers, professional and technical staff
Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact the position including Queensland Health Code of Conduct, Human Resource Management, Workplace Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination
Any other activity as directed by the Co-Ordinator, and other Public and Environmental Health Leaders
Role fit
**The essential requirements for this are**:
Being able to work the hours of 05:30-15:30 (staggered starts between 05:30-07:00 and staggered finishes between 14:00-15:30). Monday-Friday only
Being able to lift a maximum of 20kg eskies and deliver samples to internal laboratories daily
