Royal HaskoningDHV delivers tailor made engineering and scientific solutions to our clients across Australia, the Pacific and South East Asia. We are experts in the maritime, river, estuarine and coastal sectors, providing consultancy advice and civil and structural design services to clients in a number of sectors.
Due to increased demand we are now seeking a full time permanent **Proposal Manager **to join our team in Sydney. You will play a key role in growing our business by supporting the development of the client base and delivery of exciting proposals throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region.
**What will you do**:
- To manage selected bids, meeting budgetary, quality and timeframe targets to lead to a successful outcome.
- To provide sustainable solution to winning work which is effective through a dedicated bid manager across the team
- To strive for best practice through continual improvement
- To promote and market all facets of services during interfaces with colleagues in other sectors/offices and clients where possible.
- To promote best value solution for clients
- To develop and maintain a business development and proposal database (i.e. project references, client quotes, photographs, previous proposals etc.)
**Core Activities and Responsibilities**:
- Managing selected bids or components of bids, taking responsibility for delivery of the bid
- Preparing successful high quality bid submissions on time - including Executive Summary, Company Profile, Methodology, Other Parties, Project Experience, Key Personnel, Program, Fees, Case Studies etc.
- Managing subcontractors and their inputs into bids, quality assurance and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications (addenda)
- Working in collaboration with all design groups ensure the integrity of the overall bid
- Providing both management and advice to bid team members
- Reviewing and confirming compliance with the components of the ‘Request for Tender’ or ‘Expression of Interest’ for which responsible
- Managing all commercial aspects of the bid (fee build-up, risk, market back pricing, schedules) including internal quality system and approvals
- Leading by example to achieve goals and championing a quality, innovative, client-focused and entrepreneurial culture
- Assisting with managing and inputting into opportunities - gathering background information on the project, competitor analysis, strength and weakness, partnering opportunities
- Leading with graphic design and appearance of our bids (visuals)
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required by your manager

**What you bring**:
- Effective technical and practical engineering skills in the relevant discipline.
- Familiarity with key industry guidelines, codes and specifications.
- Achievement of financial and business targets.
- Client liaison and development, with a high level of care to client satisfaction and relationship building.
- Direct and advise on technical matters, teach, mentor and manage project teams.
- Able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills, including hosting/facilitating meetings/workshops.

**Qualification and Experience**:
Essential:
- Civil or Structural Engineering Degree (or similar as relevant to a consulting company)
- Demonstrated experience of managing and delivering successful bids
- Excellent proficiency with reading, writing and speaking in English and relationship building - essential
