**The Role**

We are seeking an experienced **Plant Manager **to join the West Region Delivery Team on this long term frameworks contract (10-year construction and maintenance program) in western Sydney.

Reporting to the Construction Support Services Manager, you will provide support to our utilities construction team for Sydney Water’s Western Region Delivery Team. You will be responsible for coordinating the hiring/procurement and movement of vehicles, construction plant and equipment.

The Plant & Equipment Manager has the responsibility of ensuring all Plant, Machinery, Equipment and Fleet vehicles engaged on West Region Delivery Team program are inducted and compliant. The Plant and Equipment Manager engages with key stakeholders including parent company plant/ fleet managers, subcontractors and suppliers to support the maintenance and optimal utilisation of Plant, Machinery and Fleet. The internal functional relationships within West Region include HSEQ, Procurement, Finance, Construction and Project Management and Business Support. External relationships include the following stakeholders: parent company plant and equipment managers, subcontractors, suppliers, hire companies, servicing providers etc. This role is key to ensuring that applicable systems are being managed including Mobile Plant Manager and JDE (Financial).

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for all site production, production planning and ensuring plant continuity and utilisation
- Deliver exceptional service to the West Region operational team by ensuring plant and equipment is accredited and available as needed to optimize production
- Key point of contact for all general enquiries relating to plant, equipment and fleet from both internal and external stakeholders
- Draft and deliver monthly reports communicating progress against key objectives and/or KPI’s in terms of the program or other strategies required by West Region Delivery Team
- Responsible for all onsite inventory management - including monthly stock takes, analysis of theoretical versus actual consumption of raw materials and reasons for variances
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure all plant and equipment is operational and meeting all legislative safety requirements
- Identify industry best practices for operations and implement approved strategies for the optimum achievement of the program objectives
- Administer key systems to ensure records are maintained for compliance and the measurement of utilisation across the program
- Work with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve sustainability objectives and targets
- Support parent companies to build self perform capability and ultimately greater Safety, Environment, Quality and Financial performance across the program
- Support the Verification of Competency (VOC) process
- Support the West Region team with training and support in the field of Plant and Equipment Management
- Any other duties as required based on new operational HSEQ changes/needs.

**What you will need**
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the engineering, civil construction, and/or maintenance services industry
- Strong computer proficiency including the Microsoft suite
- Experience in the use of systems to manage plant and equipment records, accreditation and ideally utilisation
- Strong people and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- A demonstrated commitment and desire to improve safety
- Capability to work independently with the ability and desire to have control over the day to day operations of the business and responsibility for productivity and performance
- Demonstrated ability to keep up to date with relevant industry developments
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people, and to lead and influence people and
- Personal drive and results-orientation.
