As a Teacher Aide you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service assisting and supporting teachers, students and parents with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities. The teacher Aide reports to the Principal or nominated delegate as appropriate. The reporting relationship to teachers may be changed by the Principal on a regular basis to fulfil the specific needs within the school.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Supporting a student with extensive additional needs, one on one.
- Assisting and supporting the student with learning activities and behavioural needs in a supportive school environment.
- Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students including the delivery of first aid.
- Adapting to a modified class timetable to suit the learning needs of a student with challenging and impulsive behaviours.
- Working alongside the classroom teacher to develop and implement strategies to engage the student in learning and completing required tasks, including non-traditional learning methods.
- Using de-escalation techniques and strategies to assist with keeping the student on task both inside and outside the classroom environment.
- General duties of a teacher aide as outlined in the role descriptions.
- Trauma informed practices training (PACE)
- Prior experience working 1:1 with a student
- Behaviour management experience and have an awareness of vicarious trauma and self-care
