**About the Role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Locomotive Asset Management Principle to join Pacific National, helping deliver what matters

As the Locomotive Asset Management Principle, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the safety, performance, and lifespan of our locomotive assets. You will be responsible for providing safety leadership, developing asset management plans, and implementing major periodic maintenance programs.

**Key responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Safety Leadership: Accountability for safety focus and exceeding safety targets both internally and with external suppliers
- Develop long term Strategic Asset Management strategies for PN Rollingstock assets, coordinating input from Business Units (BUs).
- Identify whole of life (WOL) costs (OPEX and CAPEX) remaining asset classes considering any required upgrade programs to sustain through to end of life whilst considering performance impacts and regulatory compliance.
- Develop planning and costing scenarios for each asset class considering the potential cost benefits and decisions required to determine the optimal timing of investment in either upgrade programs or asset replacement programs with the intent to deliver long-term benefit to PN and its customers.
- Identify optimal timing of upgrades, renewals and fleet retirement / disposal of these assets based on performance, risk and/or part supply security to maintain PN levels of service.
- Ensure programs of work are defined and aligned to asset life cycle forecasts as well as business operational needs
- Manage project schedule to ensure milestones and deadlines are successfully achieved including hand back in alignment with business needs
- Validate completion and quality of works

**About you**

You will be armed with strong stakeholder management abilities, including negotiations, facilitation, and influencing to bring unity and alignment to our initiatives. You will harness the ability to drive the development of business cases through sophisticated scenario modelling unlocking strategic insight and delivering recommendations that support business initiatives.

**In addition**:

- 10+ Years in a Senior Asset Management Role.
- Experience within the rail, transport and/or heavy industry.
- Demonstrable experience in Asset Lifecycle Management.
- Extensive experience in delivering projects in complex business and contract models
- Demonstrable experience working within defined timeframes and managing capital budgets
- Demonstrable experience in data systems and analytical review
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications i.e. Asset Management, Engineering
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internally and externally.
- Proven technical expertise in at least one of the functional disciplines - economics, railway engineering, construction, building, asset management, transport planning or commerce.
