At Arup, you’ll do more than work — you’ll shape a better world.
**About this role**
Do you find purpose in leading infrastructure teams? As the Associate Civil Engineer, you will be part of the Melbourne leadership team and have input on major buildings and urban design projects across Victoria. Ideally you will enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment, leading people who want to have a positive and sustainable impact on projects that will shape Melbourne for years ahead.
**What will I do?**
- Lead civil engineering elements of Buildings and Urban Design projects and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Contribute to the assessment of project opportunities and develop scope and fees for Civil Infrastructure design elements.
- Ensure the commercial success of projects by actively managing project budgets, risks and client relationships.
- Lead and develop relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders
- Mentor and develop staff to increase Civil Engineering capabilities on Buildings and Urban design projects. You will also be responsible for quality and accuracy of own and others work.
**What will I bring?**
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant skills with over 10 years post-graduate experience, most likely in consulting engineering or a similar local/state government role, with exposure to medium-large and multidisciplinary projects;
- Expert knowledge in civil engineering design for Building and Urban Design projects across diverse market sectors.
- Confidence to provide estimates for engineering budgets, assess commercial risks and develop programs to meet requirements on large multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on multidisciplinary projects
**Our firm**
Dedicated to sustainable development, Arup is a collective of designers, advisors and experts working globally. Founded to be both humane and excellent, we collaborate with our clients and partners using imagination, technology and rigour to shape a better world.
