**Job Description**:
As an Urban Planner at AECOM, you will support the Urbanism and Planning team on a variety of private and public sector projects, working alongside allied professionals, particularly the landscape and urban design, environmental, sustainability, advisory, renewable energy and infrastructure disciplines.
**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
+ Guiding projects from concept to delivery
+ Investigation, analysis and development of strategy, development facilitation and approvals (Planning Scheme Amendments, Planning permits, Environmental Effects Statements)
+ Drafting planning advice and client communications on a wide range of project types
+ Planning approvals management
+ Working within set criteria, deadlines, budget and with a commercial orientated outcome
+ Communication and consultation
+ Preparing reports and other documentation.
**Qualifications**:
As suitable Urban Planner in our Melbourne office you will be able to provide some or all of the following:
+ Obtained tertiary qualifications in urban planning or a related/relevant field of study;
+ An understanding of statutory and strategic planning principles, and an ability to provide practical, pragmatic and analytical advice;
+ An enthusiasm for communication with excellent written and verbal skills, alongside presentation and organisational skills;
+ A passion for your work and a proactive and insightful mindset;
+ Looking for an opportunity for responsibility and to grow and learn;
+ A commitment to high quality outcomes;
+ Innovative and lateral thinking;
+ A commitment to ‘having a go’ and to producing high quality work;
+ An ability to show initiative and to work with some supervision;
+ Developing project management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines;
+ Excellent liaison and interpersonal skills;
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Prior urban planning or private consultancy experience, preferred but not essential.
