About the role
Reporting to the Senior Budget and Risk Analyst, the Planning and Reporting Analyst provides high level support and guidance relating to Parliamentary budgets. This includes coordinating and developing financial reports and budgetary submissions.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Assist in coordinating Parliament's budget submissions for the State Budget Process
- Assist in compilation of Parliament's annual output and capital budget and associated forecasting of financial results.
- Assist in month end reporting processes including provision of variance analysis from budgeted result, production and distribution of financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Meet Parliament's external budgeting and reporting requirements to Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) and Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC).
- Provide expert support with the development and review of business cases for projects.

About you
You will bring demonstrated experience in delivering budget planning, development, monitoring and reporting services in a complex environment to the role. This includes (but is not limited to):

- Demonstrated experience in using large financial management systems, such as Oracle, for business reporting with an ability to learn new processes quickly and implement system changes.
- Proven experience in the use of analytics and reporting tools in relation to financial data and highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to provide authoritative advice and consult effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills combined with the ability to coordinate complex projects/processes.
