With the introduction of the kindergarten expansion reform and the ongoing implementation of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten, we have a new opportunity for an Executive Director to join our committed and collaborative team. The Executive Director will support the Assistant Deputy Secretary, Kindergarten Expansion and Pre-Prep Reform to provide strategic direction, leadership and operational responsibility for delivering the Three-Year-Old Kindergarten reform and a new year of universal Pre-Prep for 4-year-olds. Specifically, the Executive Director, Service Delivery and Engagement is responsible for leading a branch to deliver on portfolio objectives including ongoing consultation with the sector and key stakeholders and the delivery of the reforms through place-based initiatives and change management strategies.

The Department of Education and Training (DET) is offering a unique opportunity to be involved in delivering a series of new reforms in early childhood education in Victoria.
Kindergarten Expansion and Pre-Prep Reform (KEPPR) works collaboratively across the Department and with the sector to undertake place-based service delivery and monitoring, support the ongoing supply of early childhood teachers and educators and deliver infrastructure projects to ensure the success of these reforms.

With the introduction of the kindergarten expansion reform and the ongoing implementation of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten, we have a new opportunity for an Executive Director to join our committed and collaborative team.
The Executive Director will support the Assistant Deputy Secretary, Kindergarten Expansion and Pre-Prep Reform to provide strategic direction, leadership and operational responsibility for delivering the Three-Year-Old Kindergarten reform and a new year of universal Pre-Prep for 4-year-olds.
Specifically, the Executive Director, Service Delivery and Engagement is responsible for leading a branch to deliver on portfolio objectives including ongoing consultation with the sector and key stakeholders and the delivery of the reforms through place-based initiatives and change management strategies.
Key responsibilities of the Service Delivery and Engagement branch include:
- Facilitating the effective implementation of Three-Year-Old Kindergarten and Prep-Prep through proactive and innovative oversight activities.
- Leading the stakeholder consultation process across the sector about the development of early childhood education reforms and other key early childhood education initiatives.
- Leading change management activities that support reform implementation, including through effective sector engagement, communications, and place-based activities.
- Supporting public communications on the early childhood education reforms through close engagement with partners across the Department.
- Developing and implementing leadership and professional development activities, particularly through place-based leadership forums and networks.
- Leading all activities relating to Kinder Kits, including strategic direction, procurement, distribution and evaluation.

- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills including a record of achievement in the provision of strategic advice to senior management or government.
- Proven ability to contribute innovatively to fiscal, resource allocation and/or service delivery policy, processes and reform directions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to distil and communicate complex issues with significant implications.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders and strong negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop effective working relationships, lead and motivate a team of professionals and create a positive workplace culture.
