**Role Overview**: Djinda Dreaming is seeking a passionate and experienced Service Directors with a background in both childcare and cultural program management. This is a unique opportunity to lead our new culturally enriching childcare services while also overseeing our existing programs.
As Service Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that the childcare centre is compliant with all relevant regulations and that it provides a safe, nurturing, and culturally inclusive environment for children. You will also manage our cultural education services, working closely with the community to promote cultural awareness.
We have positions available at our Morley, Huntingdale and Armadale locations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Childcare Leadership
- Oversee the daily operations of Djinda Dreaming’s childcare services, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Standards (NQS) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
- Develop culturally inclusive learning frameworks that blend traditional Noongar knowledge with contemporary childcare practices.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and development of children in a nurturing, culturally rich environment.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff, ensuring they are skilled in both childcare and cultural awareness practices.
- Develop partnerships with parents, families, and the local community to ensure a supportive and collaborative approach to childcare.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene, safety, and child protection protocols.
**Cultural Program Management**:
- Lead and manage the delivery of Djinda Dreaming’s cultural tours, education programs, and community events, ensuring all services are culturally authentic and respectful.
- Work closely with Indigenous Elders and community leaders to develop new educational content that fosters cultural pride and awareness among children and families.
- Expand service offerings to include programs that introduce children to traditional language, art, music, and storytelling.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote childcare services and cultural programs to local audiences.
**Operational Management**:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, reporting and resource allocation for both childcare and cultural programs.
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures in line with the regulatory requirements for childcare services.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of services through regular staff training, feedback from families, and collaboration with external professionals.
**Key Qualifications & Experience**:
Childcare Expertise:
- Proven experience as a Childcare Director, Centre Manager, or similar role in the early childhood education sector.
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and other relevant childcare legislation.
- A Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent).
- Experience in developing educational programs for young children that are inclusive of cultural diversity.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including staff management, recruitment, and professional development.
**Cultural Program Leadership**:
- In-depth understanding of Aboriginal cultures, particularly Noongar culture, and a commitment to preserving and promoting cultural heritage through education.
- Proven experience in managing or leading cultural programs, community services, or similar initiatives.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage Indigenous Elders, families, and community stakeholders.
**Operational & Financial Management**:
- Experience managing budgets, financial planning, and operational efficiency within a childcare or service-based setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, staff, and community members.
