Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) is the Victorian Government's insurer and risk adviser, covering the people and projects that help Victorians thrive. We're an agency in the Department of Treasury and Finance portfolio, established under the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority Act, and report to the Assistant Treasurer.

We provide insurance and risk advice to government departments and agencies, with more than 4,600 clients, ranging from small community service organisations to public hospitals, schools, and core service providers. We also provide domestic building insurance to builders, giving Victorian homeowners peace of mind for building projects valued over $16,000.

**Your role**

Our Insurable Risk Services team is growing, and we have a fantastic opportunity for a new role - Manager, Claims Reduction Advisory.

You will be a member of the Insurable Risk Leadership team, reporting to the Head of Insurable Risk Advisory in the Risk Services Division. You will lead a team of talented and engaged insurance and risk management professionals.

You will play a key role to deliver claims reduction services and advice to our Victorian Public Sector clients to identify opportunities to reduce claims, contributing to achieving VMIA's strategic objectives.

Your work will directly contribute towards a more confident and resilient Victoria by helping to minimise clients' exposure to insurable risk. You'll ensure that clients have access to claims insights and communications that support them actively working towards reducing risks that can lead to claims.

**What you do**

This role has a targeted set of responsibilities that are likely to evolve over time. Your key responsibilities are to:

- Lead a team of insurance and risk management professionals in line with VMIA's values and People strategies.
- Design, develop and implement a client-centric claims reduction advisory service, working closely with the Risk Services division, and the Insights and Claims teams
- Design a risk-based approach to identify priority clients to focus on reducing claims
- Clearly define for clients what is required for compliance with s23 of the VMIA Act
- Develop and implement a communications plan keeping clients up to date with insights, themes and lessons from claims and emerging risks
- Design and implement digitised methods of delivering insights, both tailored and generic
- Partner with the Statewide Risk, Insurable Risk and Client Enablement teams to develop senior trusted relationships through delivery of claims reduction services and advice to clients.
- Actively monitor client feedback via formal and informal channels, and continually improve services
- Support internal executive and board communications using defined briefing and reporting processes.

**Who you work with**
- You work across all our client segments and regularly communicate and consult with your peers in the Risk Services and Insurance Divisions to inform claims experience, trends, and new opportunities for clients to reduce claims.
- You are the lead claims reduction partner for the Risk Services Division and facilitate your peers across the organisation to develop and deliver claims reduction insights to clients and ensure they are compliant with s23 of the VMIA Act.
