**The role**

The Distribution Operator is responsible for a range of duties include yard work, delivery and collection of poles and materials from various job sites and inventory tasks to assist in the achievement of our strategic objectives and operational performance targets.

The position is responsible for:
The safe and effective delivery of poles across the EQL network;
Providing support as a safety observer and actively identify and implement risk control measures where needed;
Drive and operate vehicles (semi-trailer), plant (front end loader and forklift), tools and equipment, while also maintaining and checking the operation of equipment;
Monitor and maintain both material and stock levels, ensuring adequate stock is on hand.

Your demonstrated ability to operate heavy and four wheel drive vehicles in a safe and effective manner using cranes and winches in compliance with Traffic Act & Transportation Regulations along with your ability in load restraint techniques of poles, cables and transformers will be critical to your success in this role, as will your:

- Minimum HC class licence (mandatory);
- Current Forklift Licence (LF) (mandatory);
- 10m/tonne Crane Licence (CV) (highly desirable);
- Experience with front end loader ticket would be advantageous and highly desirable;
- The ability to follow directions and appreciate the physical requirements of carrying out manual work with the willingness to learn;
- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relations with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs;
- The ability to participate in the on-call roster and work after hours, if required.
