About the Team
Transport Services is a Group within the Department of Transport and is responsible for the delivery of transport services across all modes that provide a single user interface to the transport network.
About the Opportunity
The Manager Regional Public Transport - Grampians will drive the DoT corporate objective of improved customer service through continuous improvement in the areas of reliability, innovation, sustainability, efficiency and addressing the increasing service demand on the network. To achieve these objectives a key requirement of the role is effective relationship supplier management through driving of continuous improvement in the performance of each bus operator across key metrics such as safety, service delivery, punctuality, customer satisfaction and fare compliance.
About You
- Knowledge of the Victorian Transport Industry, or similar, with thorough understanding of the extent of supplier capabilities to deliver on their performance requirements.
- Influence and Persuasion Skills - Gains agreement to proposals and ideas; Build behind the scenes support for ideas to ensure buy-in and ownership; Uses chains of indirect influence to achieve outcomes; Involves experts or other third parties to strengthen case.
- Business and Commercial Acumen - Defines and maximises value add and/or return of investment in business cases, contract terms, or service delivery agreements. Uses broad understanding of procurement and finance concepts to inform expenditure decisions and manage risks.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving Skills - Takes into account wider business context within business unit when considering options to resolve issues. Identifies recurring problems and prevents future recurrence by integrating solutions into work process.
