Founded in 1863 by the Uniting Church, the College has more than 2000students across four vibrant campuses from our Early Learning Centre through to Year 12. In 2026, Newington will enter an exciting new phase as the College transitions to co-education starting with Kindergarten and Year 5, becoming fully co-educational by 2033. **About the Position**:
The Teacher’s Aide is a fully qualified, caring, enthusiastic and proactive person who possesses excellent communication skills, demonstrate a genuine empathy for students with individual needs and is a great team player. This position is required to undertake a variety of duties including primarily classroom support and assistance in the preparation of differentiated teaching materials.

This position requires working 38 to 39 weeks per year, primarily during term time. The remuneration will be proportionate to the FTE and the number of working weeks.

**About you**:

- have sound secondary school experience and qualifications as a Teacher’s Aide
- have a sound understanding of the learning needs of students and a demonstrated empathy for students with individual learning needs
- be able to implement specialised learning programs and engage students in a vibrant differentiated education program
- assist and provide support to all students to achieve improved educational outcomes by acting as a support person with the mentor for students within the Pastoral system
- support teachers to understand the educational, health and welfare needs of Aboriginal and Indigenous students in their classroom
- work effectively as a member of an enthusiastic team and work in collaboration with teachers
- assist with the preparation of teaching aids and resources
- show a genuine appreciation and commitment to pastoral care of students
- have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- possess a thorough knowledge of safe work practices and WHS issues
- understand and adhere to the College’s Child Safeguarding policies and practices
- contribute to the continuous improvement of Child Safeguarding at Newington.
