Field Worker/leading Hand

**About the role**

Council’s Field Services section is seeking motivated staff with horticulture expertise to join the team and assist with turf and garden maintenance within council’s premier parks. The team ensures our parks offer recreational activies, open spaces and family friendly spaces to visit and enjoy the outdoors.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Establish and maintain turf areas and gardens and assist with minor landscape construction
- Identify and treat weeds and diseases in turf and garden plants
- Operate and maintain machinery
- Contribute to the team moral and provide leadership

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Current C Class Driver Licence
- Current QLD ACDC Licence, or be able to obtain within three months of appointment
- Certificate III in Horticulture or related field with relevant experience would be an advantage
- Q Fever Immunisation
- FIT Testing for respiratory protection equipment: workers must pass a respirator fit test before they first start wearing a tight-fitting respirator and at regular intervals during their employment. Workers must be clean shaven or only have facial hair that doesn't interfere with the fitting surfaces and the valve of the respirator

These are full time positions with a salary between $71,190 and $74,110 plus 12.5% superannuation.
