About the RoleIpswich City Council has multiple vacancies available for enthusiastic individuals seeking secure employment in the Ipswich area. We are seeking Field Workers and Leading Hands to join our Capital Delivery teams and contribute to building and maintaining vital infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Field Worker: Responsible for general labouring tasks including shovelling, spotting, concreting, and installing pipes and gully units. Some of the small plant equipment you will operate includes quick-cut saws, jackhammers, vibrating plates, and hammer drills.
- Leading Hand: Support field operations while leading a crew to ensure work is completed to quality standards. Responsible for conducting toolbox talks, completing WHS documentation, and overseeing daily tasks to maintain safety and compliance on site.
- Current C class driver's licence
- General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) card
- Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or demonstrated construction knowledge and experience
- Belief in our values of safety and wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership
- Salary commencing at $68,049 for Field Workers and $74,110 for Leading Hand, plus 12.5% superannuation
- 9 day fortnight: Every second weekend is a long weekend
