The Operations team ensures Minderoo’s impact is sustainable and effective. It brings together Minderoo’s critical enabling functions of finance (financial control, procurement, grant management, tax, payroll, financial planning and analysis), investments, legal, risk and compliance, people and technology.
The Operations team ensures that Minderoo:
- is financially sustainable;
- has an effective governance and risk framework;
- has fit-for-purpose tools, systems and processes;
- makes informed decisions and allocates resources well;
- has an engaged and safe workforce; and
- is compliant with regulations and internal policies.
They do this by maintaining and improving operational processes, systems and capabilities; providing strategic expert advice; managing legal financial and operational risks; investing, managing and growing the corpus; delivering a values-aligned people experience over the employee lifecycle; providing financial planning, reporting and insights, staying abreast of external best practice/trends and delivering transformational change.
Reporting to the Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance, the Principal, Risk and Compliance helps ensure Minderoo meets its legal, regulatory, and internal compliance obligations by simplifying and maintaining Minderoo's policy framework and developing and facilitating training to staff to embed a culture of risk awareness and compliance.
The role will partner closely with policy owners across Minderoo, supporting them to streamline their policies, procedures and guidelines and to otherwise align with Minderoo's Policy Framework.
The role will also partner with a Learning and Development specialist to develop and implement a fit-for-purpose risk and compliance training program to ensure Minderoo's policies, procedures and guidelines are well understood and followed.
**Qualifications**
Additionally, you will bring:
- Proven experience in a senior risk and compliance role.
- Experience in developing and implementing policies, training programs, and risk management frameworks.
- Outstanding communication, policy writing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and accessible manner.
- High level of stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently, project manage multiple stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on timelines.
- Strong working knowledge of compliance frameworks highly desirable.
- High level of integrity and discretion dealing with confidential information. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
