
Practice Manager

**Primary Role**:
To provide a safe and well-functioning environment for patients, where all duties are carried out in accordance to the practice’s policies and procedures.
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Recruitment of staff - advertise, interview & select
- Staff training - orientation, instruction and supervision, allocate rosters, holidays etc.
- Conduct staff meetings
- Assessment of staff annually, review remuneration and ensure conformity with current awards
- Review staff conditions of employment and make recommendations to the partners
- Oversee the updating of the practice manual as required and ensure guidelines, polices and procedures are communicated effectively to staff
- Assist in or prepare patient accounts
- Attend to company banking
- Maintain accuracy in MBS and make adjustments as required
**General Office Management**:
- Attend to accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Maintain all records, ledgers, journals, petty cash records and patient records
- Maintain knowledge of current Medicare & MBS information
- Oversee ordering of stock
- Assist with secretarial, telephone and reception duties where necessary
- Maintain a diary and liaise between doctors and company representatives
- Make recommendations on practice image and maintain appropriate marketing initiatives
- Attend conferences and continue education courses in management
- Keep up to date with local changes which may affect practice
- Maintain confidentiality
- Monitor and maintain WHS
- Disaster planning
- Fire Safety Awareness and Planning
- CPR & First Aid Training
- Handling patient and doctor complaints
- Understand and implement infection control
**Skills & Abilities**:
- The ability to work independently or as apart of a team
- Phone skills - how to answer incoming calls, how to place on hold, how to make internal calls, how to make external calls
- The ability to promptly follow through with tasks
- Basic typing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A friendly ‘can do’ attitude
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $24.61 - $29.60 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
Work Location: In person
Expected Start Date: 18/03/2025
