Belford Painting Services is looking for motivated Painting Trades Workers who are qualified and highly competent in the trade. Our work involves internal and external projects including repairs and surface repaints all over Canberra. Ongoing work is available on a variety of exciting commercial and residential projects.

If you are trade qualified with 2 years of experience and are looking to join a high-quality paining crew, we would love to hear from you

**Your duties include but are not limited to the following**:

- Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
- Preparing walls and surfaces for painting by washing them down, scraping, filling holes and cracks, and removing old paint
- Move necessary materials around jobsite as assigned
- Placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
- Selecting the correct tools and paints for projects
- Mixing and matching paint to ensure correct colour match
- Covering exposed objects and surfaces
- Using fillers such as putty and plaster to repair cracks
- Reviewing each job to ensure nothing has been missed before handing it over to the owners
- Obeying workplace safety rules
- Collaborating with other design and construction specialists
- Keeping the workplace and tools clean
- A Certificate III in Painting and Decorating is required. Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) is highly regarded
- At least two (2) years’ work experience as a painting trade worker
- Immediate start
- Work as part of a multicultural team, as well as unsupervised when required
- Ability to work safely under pressure and meet deadlines
- Sound trouble shooting skills
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Attention to detail
- Solid communication skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
