I am working with a leading civil engineering design consultancy, with a national presence and a vibrant Melbourne Melbourne office, specializing in water and environmental engineering solutions. With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, they provide comprehensive design services to clients in various industries, including infrastructure development, urban planning, and environmental conservation. Their team is dedicated to delivering high-quality projects that have a positive impact on communities and the environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Conduct catchment mapping and analysis to assess water drainage patterns and develop effective solutions.
- Size drainage infrastructure, including pipes, culverts, and channels, based on project specifications and regulatory guidelines.
- Design open-channel drainage systems for effective water flow management.
- Develop surface treatment and erosion protection strategies to minimize environmental impact.
- Create road layout designs that ensure efficient traffic flow and safety.
- Design road and earthworks pads that meet project requirements and adhere to relevant standards.
- Develop unsealed pavement designs for rural areas, considering factors such as soil type, traffic load, and environmental impact.
- Determine optimal water storage sizes based on water demand and availability.
- Plan site layouts to maximize efficiency and functionality, considering factors such as access, utilities, and environmental constraints.
- Design sealed pavements that meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Implement pit and pipe drainage systems to manage stormwater effectively.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Approximately 10 years of local experience in water and environmental engineering.
- Strong expertise in catchment mapping, drainage infrastructure sizing, open channel drainage, surface treatment and erosion protection, road layout design, road, and earthworks pad design, unsealed pavement design, water storage sizing, site layout planning, sealed pavement design, and pit and pipe drainage.
- Proficiency in using 12D and AutoCAD software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within a team and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget.
