**About the Role**
We are excited to announce a permanent full-time position for an Injury Management Specialist at Monash Health. The Injury Management team is an integral part of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team and has a key role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of Monash Health employees. Specifically, the primary function of the Injury Management team is to effectively manage workplace injuries and medical conditions and ensure injured employees are provided with the highest level of support and care to assist with their recovery and rehabilitation. The Injury Management team is based at Scoresby and may require travel between multiple Monash Health sites.
**A Day in the Life**
In this role you will be required to manage workers compensation claims with the aim to reduce the human and financial costs of the organisation. You will be required, but not limited to:
- Provide expertise advice and guidance to support managers and supervisors with managing work related injuries and conditions.
- Coordinate the activities with key stakeholders to facilitate the successful management of injured employees with their recovery at work.
- Develop appropriate strategies to effectively manage the cost of claims and the high risks associated.
- Working collaboratively with the organisations’ WorkSafe agent.
- Providing expert advice and recommendations relating to dispute resolution matters.
- Promote and coordinate Monash Health’s initiative that aim to provide early treatment options.
**About You**
You are an experienced health professional with an expertise in injury management relating to occupational rehabilitation, claims management and/or return to work. You will demonstrate a good understanding of the workers compensation legislation. You will be able to demonstrate strong problem solving and mediation skills, strong communication skills, be highly organised and time efficient and, able to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member. **What You Need**:
- Current driver’s licence
- Experience and understanding with the use of an injury and/or claims management system
- Proficiency in computer literacy skills and the use of the Microsoft office suite software - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Current and valid registration with a governing Australian health professional regulator or board (if applicable)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Allied Health such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Nursing or equivalent discipline
