About the Role

An exciting opportunity has come about for an Injury Management Specialist to join the Health and Injury Management team in supporting the implementation and compliance of AGL policies, procedures and requirements pertaining to return to work and injury management.

What you’ll be doing

Managing and monitoring rehabilitation files for both work and non-work related injuries/illnesses for the corporate offices and operational sites nationally, you will play a critical role in actively promoting a positive injury management culture at AGL. Working within a supportive team environment, you will:
- Implement, review and manage individual rehabilitation programs and coordinate the return to work to minimise time lost and costs associated with work related injuries.- Implement and drive early intervention processes and strategies to assist employees to remain at work, including local programs and training workshops in the office and on site.- Provide case management services and support by performing regular liaison with all parties (Injured Employee, Leader, Treating Practitioners, AGL Claims Manager, Manager of Injury Management and RTW, People and Culture (HR), and other stakeholders to ensure a full return to work.- Coach and provide advice and support to leaders in effecting the injury management program and ensure the wellbeing of employees by assisting injured workers in the return-to-work process.- Contribute to periodic reviews and audits to assess health and injury management effectiveness.- Analyse/review the current injury management systems and procedures and make recommendations for improvement and provide relevant advice.- Facilitate Training on Injury Management processes including Early Intervention to Leaders and stakeholders.

About You

You will have experience in developing and implementing injury management improvement programs to address key trends/occurrences along with knowledge of injury management legislation and applicable management systems used to manage cases.

To achieve best practice in occupational rehabilitation, you will have a natural ability to build relationships across the business, provide effective advice and influence improvements in work practices and injury management outcomes. Maintaining a high level of confidentiality, you will possess the interpersonal skills to support impacted employees with their return-to-work pathway.

What you’ll bring to the table- Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health or related field.- Completion of applicable WorkCover Return to Work accredited training in various jurisdictions - desirable.-
- High level written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present during training programs for corporate offices and on-site operations.- Well-developed organisational and time-management skills and the ability to co-ordinate multiple projects within legislative frameworks, and to achieve results.
