Create your best future and join Westpac as a **Control Assessor Manager.** **What’s the role?** You’ll be the go-to person for making sure our risk controls work. As a Control Assessor Manager, you’ll test, assess, and fine-tune the way we manage non-financial risk across Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB). You’ll help spot what’s working, what’s not, and where we can do better keeping our systems sharp and our people informed. Based in Sydney, you’ll conduct 1st Line controls testing and Control Self-Assessments (CSAs) across WIB, ensuring they’re completed on time and meet internal and regulatory standards. You’ll help identify control improvements, maintain clear documentation, escalate risks promptly, and support the ongoing enhancement of risk management practices. **What do I need?** - You possess a keen ability to identify control gaps, ask insightful questions, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing frameworks. You’re confident in constructively challenging the status quo when something doesn’t align. - You’re comfortable navigating large datasets, extracting meaningful insights, and translating them into clear, actionable reports. Experience with risk analytics or reporting tools is highly regarded. - You’ve worked within or alongside risk, audit, or compliance functions—ideally in a large or complex organisation. You understand the Three Lines of Defence model and how to operate effectively within it. - You build strong relationships, influence without authority, and collaborate seamlessly across teams—even in dynamic, fast-changing environments. - You’re committed to learning, evolving, and finding smarter ways to work.
