**About the role**
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled person to become the Assembly's next Deputy Clerk. As an executive in the Department of the Legislative Assembly, you will be responsible for the operational management of the business of the Department, including budget, risk, resourcing and workforce management.

As the second most senior officer of the Assembly, you will have excellent knowledge of parliamentary procedure, an inclusive leadership style, and the capacity to gain and maintain the trust of a diverse range of stakeholders including members of Parliament, members' staff, senior public servants and parliamentary officers. You will proactively contribute to a positive departmental culture, provide strategic leadership to the Department, and work across the three parliamentary departments to achieve shared objectives.

The total remuneration package is fixed and is comparable to SES-2.

**About you**
To succeed in the role, you will exercise high order critical thinking and analysis, demonstrate a completely apolitical nature, have demonstrated success in leading teams and getting the best out of people, and have substantial expertise in parliamentary law, practice, and procedure.

You will be flexible, have high emotional intelligence, and enjoy working as part of team to solve problems and reach objectives. As the position requires working long and unpredictable hours during sittings of the House, you will be available for work outside normal hours.
