About the role

Reporting to the Data Governance Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the implementation and embedment of the Enterprise Data Governance framework across the primary focus areas of master data, data quality, stewardship, policies, and procedures.

What’s Involved:

- Work effectively with a variety of cross-functional teams, the Data Council, business data stewards, technology, and other data streams to monitor and assess adherence to data management and governance procedures, focusing on the importance of good quality data to drive business decisions
- Define and improve processes for managing data along its lifecycle; operationalise data management and governance activities, with a focus on sourcing and quality of critical data as well as identification and protection of sensitive data.
- Create policies and controls for the appropriate protection of enterprise data assets through a defined life cycle, from acquisition or creation to end of life destruction and disposal procedures
- Monitor data quality, identify issues and trends, oversee remediation plans, implement data controls, and manage data quality remediation strategies with key stakeholders
- Develop and deliver data governance training as needed to data stewards and other stakeholders

Who we’re looking for

Bringing your strong relationship and stakeholder engagement skills you will be highly skilled at liaising with all levels of the organisation, building trusted relationships and understanding stakeholder needs.

You will provide high level advisory services on a range of complex information matters, and identify and diagnose any trends, risks, and targeted business needs.

You’ll Need:

- Demonstrated experience in a similar or related role
- Experience in a large ‘traditional’ organisation, with significant data assets within a sophisticated technical environment
- Demonstrated data governance, stewardship, data quality and business reporting delivery experience, along with a highly inquisitive approach to business problem solving
- Demonstrated experience in delivering a programmatic approach for enterprise data management to identify, prioritise and execute relevant initiatives
- Tertiary Qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Law, Business or Business Administration _(advantageous)_
