**About the team**:
Commercial is a large but close-knit group. We bring diversity of thought, backgrounds and experience to every Business Unit at Coles Supermarkets, Liquor and Express. **About the role**:
The Commercial Transformation team forms part of our Centre of Excellence and plays a critical role in providing Subject Matter Expertise and support to our Business Unit teams across the Coles Merchandise business.
In this greenfield role you will be responsible for the leadership and operationalising Merchandise data management and governance capabilities as part of the Business Unit Data team. You will partner with varied stakeholders across the business unit which will require you to utilise your strong understanding of data governance principles and stakeholder management skills to implement this new way of working across the Coles Business Units. You will also:

- Develop, implement, and maintain the Product Data Management & Governance framework via a continuous improvement cycle
- Identify and prioritise Product Data Management & Governance initiatives based on Business Unit data needs and in-flight programs of work
- Lead and facilitate the Business Unit Data Readiness Working Group
- Provide support to the Business Units and project teams in complying with Data Management & Governance requirements
- Establish strong stakeholder relationships, to engage, communicate and deliver numerous projects
- Provide data representation at relevant meetings and communicate or escalate items as needed to the relevant teams
- Develop plans and processes to monitor and track Data Management & Governance initiatives
- Manage and develop a small team of 3 direct reports.

**About you and your skills**:
This role will utilise your previous experience in establishing a data governance framework, ideally within a large complex business. You will work closely with and report into the Head of Commercial Transformation in a role with genuine impact to help helps and make a different to not just Coles but to the customers we support.
- A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, data management or analytics field is highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in leading data management and governance initiatives and teams
- Experience with Retail product data is preferred
- Strong understanding of Data Governance principles and framework, including how they are leveraged operationally
- Demonstrated experience in working with and influencing senior stakeholders within a complex matrix environment
- Experience articulating Data Management concepts and impacts tailored to the literacy of the stakeholder
- Past demonstrated people leadership experience
- Developed communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and able to communicate data driven decisions and strategy
