Policy and Data Analyst

Our client, a Victorian government agency, is seeking a Policy and Data Analyst for a 6-month contract.
- This role requires specialist capabilities across data analysis and policy analysis and the ability to work across both data and policy.
- Accountabilities
- Supporting the extraction, analysis, interpretation, and reporting on data from external and internal data sets to inform service compliance monitoring and operational and performance reporting.
- Supporting technical analysis of the organisations data holdings and related data sets to improve data integrity, data reliability and validity.
- Complete activities related to data mining, data profiling and data modelling and scenario analysis to inform service delivery practice and outcomes and to facilitate organisational continuous improvement.
- Support the design, develop and use of tools and processes to identify, analyse and facilitate improvements to business systems, processes and workflows which impact on data integrity and/or reporting.
- Contributing to the establishment and/or maintenance of core internal and external data sets
- Support the development of and implementation of data remediation strategies and processes to improve the quality and consistency of data.
- Assisting in the provision of technical support, tools, advice and skills development to Business Units that report under each project to improve organisational capability in analysing and understanding data.
- Coordinating aspects of assigned projects
Collaborating with internal and external teams on a range of matters, such as planning, design, legal and communications.
- Establishing and/or maintaining effective relationships with a range of stakeholders to manage risks and resolve issues impacting the successful delivery of key project milestones.
- Providing clear advice on project, project delivery status, benefits and outcomes for a range of stakeholders, including Ministers, the Secretary, senior officers and other project teams.
- Contributing to problem solving with reference to governance processes to resolve 'roadblocks'.
- Proficiency in recognised tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, etc is required with proficiency in AIMS preferred.
