- Plan and lead the requisite organisation of work to effectively respond to emerging strategic priorities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Department of Health Diversity and Inclusion team
- Manage and deliver on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and projects in line with the organisation's health reform agenda and workforce strategy
The role Reporting to the Director, Organisational Development, Change and Inclusion you will:
- Provide operational management of a small team and strategic leadership and expert diversity and inclusion advice across the Department
- Research, develop and implement diversity, equity and inclusion strategies, programs, tools and reporting mechanisms
- Lead the annual Diversity and Equity audit data analysis and reporting for the department, providing strategic support for the QAS and HHS audit reports.
- Lead the design of an optimal team structure, including resourcing requirements, for the diversity and inclusion team in light of an increase in strategic priorities following recent legislative changes and directives.
- Lead the development of legislated action plans in support of the organisation's workforce strategy and other related strategic objectives.
- Lead the integration and alignment of the requirements of the new code of practice to manage psychosocial hazards and risks into all diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives as part of the implementation of the code.
- Develop interventions and solutions based on insights and feedback received, in support of building a psychologically safe and inclusive culture in the department
- Lead the development of initiatives focused on supporting the organisation's flexible work policy and guidelines.
- Support an inclusive culture that encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities and supports staff to maximise their potential, health and wellbeing.
**The successful personYou will have**:
- Contemporary expertise and experience in developing and implementing best practice diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, including building related strategies in a complex, regulated environment
- Proven success leading and delivering large scale programs or projects
- Proven knowledge and understanding of current policies and frameworks relevant to inclusion and diversity.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and presentation of strategic advice to senior and executive stakeholders.
- High level networking, negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated research, analytical, problem solving and evaluation skills
- An effective an engaging leadership style, with proven success leading, developing and managing a high performing team
