**About the role**:
The Project Accounts & AR Officer is a vital role within the Finance Operations team, responsible for the smooth and efficient financial administration of our projects. This involves a diverse range of tasks, including comprehensive project accounts management, proactive debt collection with a customer service mindset, and client service. By providing timely and accurate support, this role contributes to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the organisation.

This role is primarily based in our Central Coast office in a hybrid capacity, with occasional attendance in our Sydney office.

**Day to day responsibilities include**:

- Setup and maintenance of project and client records, including conducting due diligence to ensure accuracy, contractual compliance, and streamlined invoicing and collections.
- Prepare and issue a high volume of complex monthly progress claims, liaising with customers and coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance with client and contract requirements.
- Proactively manage debt collection, assisting with the collection of debts through targeted outbound calls and personalised communication, building strong client relationships.
- Manage progress claim responses and client inquiries in the AR inbox, ensuring timely action and follow-up with project teams and clients on outstanding queries.
- Investigate and reconcile complex account issues and payment assessment variances, actively seeking solutions by collaborating with clients, internal project and finance teams, and processing claim adjustments as required.
- Execute month-end close processes including accurate revenue allocation, reconciliation of expected amounts versus actual results, and investigation of discrepancies.
- Manage project costs and subcontractor invoicing, ensuring costs are accurately accounted for, tracked, and reimbursed through client invoicing.
- Prepare and present accurate, informative month-end and ad-hoc reports on project performance and monthly revenue results.

**The talent you’ll bring**:

- Process driven with a high level of attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
- Previous experience working within a complex AR environment
- Highly effective stakeholder management skills, demonstrating a collaborative mindset and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable and confident to pick up the phone.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to trouble-shoot and reconcile projects
- Self-disciplined, highly organised, efficient and focussed
- Shows initiative going above and beyond in taking ownership of the role and responsibilities
- Comfortable with intermediate to advanced Excel functions
- Construction industry experience or experience in a similar role is highly desirable
