**Description**:
About the role
As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the Kindergarten Family Outreach Officer is expected to personally contribute to the shaping and achievement of ATSICHS vision and goals within their own scope. They will deliver interventions to encourage families in achieving their goals and provide crisis response care as required. The role will operate heavily through a community outreach/in-home engagement approach to remove any access barriers to families. The Kindergarten Family Outreach Officer will provide direct support alongside the family in resolving child developmental and behavioural matters. The Kindergarten Family Outreach Officer is responsible for providing high quality community activities and engagement from planning through to delivery. The role will also act as a family advocate; ensuring families are receiving best quality services and are actively involved in all decisions that affect their lives and treated with respect, dignity and empathy. The Kindergarten Family Outreach Officer will focus on supporting enrolments into ATSICHS ‘Deadly Kindy’ sites, CFC playgroups and other programs and services provided by ATSICHS. They will contribute and participate in a diverse and multi-discipline team that promotes a flourishing workplace culture and upholds the ethos and values of ATSICHS Brisbane as a long standing Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive support in determining the family’s genuine needs and guiding a goal oriented case management plan with a key focus on the developmental growth of children
- Provide integration and assisted referrals and coordination between different sites or programs, to facilitate the delivery of an efficient, responsive and integrated human services response to all families
- Provide high quality case management practices
- Actively engage families into the Child and Family Centre to seek support and participate in targeted programs

COVID-19 Requirements
Immunization history showing you have received two doses of a Covid 19 vaccine.
**Essential**:
Certificate IV qualification or higher in Social Work/Early Childhood Education/Human Services/Behavioural Science /Psychology/Community Development or relevant field.
Ability to work with diverse people and presentations in providing case managed social work driven supports.
Demonstrated ability to record accurate and consistent case notes.
Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of direction and to effectively communicate with and work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and to contribute to the development of creative and innovative services.
Demonstrated capacity to develop effective links and partnerships with local communities and community networks.
A willingness to travel across the ATSICHS Brisbane and Logan region of services and work across different sites.
A willingness to provide social work supports and engagement to patients outside of a clinic environment.
Working with Children’s Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
**Desirable, but not mandatory**:
Bachelor qualification in either Social Work/Early Childhood Education/Human Services/Behavioural Science /Psychology/Community Development or relevant field
Previous experience in an outreach family support and or advocacy role.
