**Job Description**:
We are seeking a highly motivated research fellow to join the Laboratory of Vaccines for the Developing World at the Institute for Glycomics.
In addition to the above, the Research Fellow will undertake the following key duties in an upcoming veterinary clinical trial:
- Parasite culture and vaccine manufacturing activities
- A range of lab-based research activities
**What we can offer**
This a 12 month fixed-term full-time position, with the possibility of renewal, based at the Gold Coast campus.
Salary range for Research Fellow Grade 1 is $78,437 to $$91,879 per annum plus 17% superannuation.
**Qualifications**:
**About you**
- Hold a PhD in immunology and or/infectious diseases.
- Have demonstrated experience or ability in laboratory work, immunological assays, cell culture and flow cytometry. Experience with malaria/babesia parasite culture, bovine immunology, laboratory animal techniques, Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Possess a high level of oral and written communication, excellent record keeping and good time management skills to ensure research activities are completed to the highest possible standards and within a set time frame.
- A proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently across multiple projects, supporting vaccine development
- Able to take a flexible approach to working hours, where required, in order to meet the requirements of the project
