The Menzies Health Institute Queensland (MHIQ) undertakes research across the lifecycle to identify key factors that influence health.
Three overarching programs—Disability and Rehabilitation, Healthcare Practice and Survivorship, and Infectious Diseases and Immunology—encapsulate our research strengths and align with local and national health priorities.
Underpinning the work of these programs is a focus on innovation, data science, research translation and meaningful clinical and community partnerships.
**Job Description**:
**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking a talented Research Fellow to undertake biostatistical research and to provide methodological and biostatistical advice to colleagues from a range of health disciplines.
In this position you will have the opportunity to build your own research program, and take on a specialist biostatistics role within large high-performing teams.
Research outputs will include publications in leading academic journals. This is a great opportunity to build skills and a solid track record.
**Salary Range**
The base salary for a Research Fellow Grade 1 position is in the range $78,437- $91,879 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $91,771 - $107,498 per annum.
The base salary for a Research Fellow Grade 2 position is in the range $100,137 - $118,916 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $117,160 - $139,131 per annum.
**Qualifications**:
**About You**
To be successful in this role you will hold an advanced tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as biostatistics or epidemiology, as well as experience in conducting statistical research and providing statistical support in a health-related field.
In addition to the above, you will demonstrate:
- Experience in statistical consulting or education
- A record of writing reports or a track of research publications
- A sound understanding of the Australian health environment.
- High-level communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills
