RGIT Australia, situated in Melbourne’s CBD, is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Account Receivable Officer to work within the Institute's Finance and Accounting Department.

This is a **full-time **position.

We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and professional Account Receivable Officer to support the organisation. This position is hands-on and will allow you to be exposed to the different functions of the finance department, allowing you to contribute to the success of the organisation through the effective operation of the finance department.

**Position responsibilities**
- Raise invoices of all students at the start of each term on the basis of their offer letter
- Accounts Receivable - maintaining student account in RTO manager and sending invoices to students
- Liaise with the Admin and Marketing departments in relation to student fees, course and enrolments
- Maintain accounts receivable ledger and reconcile it against fee invoiced, cash receipts and withdrawals
- Prepare receivable report and fee collection report and submit it to Accountant/Accounts Manager
- Collect fees over the counter and record it in RTO manager and XERO accordingly
- Maintain, update and reconcile Cash Book with xero and physical cash on a continuous basis
- Counsel students and deal with their queries in regards to tuition fees
- Review student request for payment plan, approve their payment plan request and update it in RTO Manager
- Reconcile PRISM report with RTO Manager to make sure all active students in PRISM are accounted for in RTO manager
- Maintain receivable report to account for overdue student fees and provide the summary to the collection agency for collection, and coordinate with collection agencies as and when required
- Reconcile allocated Bank account on monthly basis

**To be considered for this position, applicants need to have the following**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience
- Minimum 2-years’ experience in Accounting or Minimum 2 years’ experience in Registered Training Organisation is required
- High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy with figures
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards and Australian taxation legislation (preferred)
- Knowledge of financial service processes including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations is preferable
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal
- Prior experience in education industry is preferable
- Demonstrated ability to meet month end closing and statutory deadlines is desirable
- Technologically competent as per the requirements of the position - able to easily learn and understand how to use new software/programs
