**About the Role**:
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join the finance team in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of accounts receivable transactions, following up on outstanding payments, and ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer invoices.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and issue invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of customer account balances
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve billing disputes
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any issues related to customer payments
- Provide regular reports on accounts receivable status to management
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
**Requirements**:
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
