**The role**

The Specialist Resource Geologist is to provide technical resource modelling and estimation capabilities within the MinRes Orebody Knowledge team by providing technical reviews and assistance to both operational ore control and short to medium term geological modelling inputs supporting the Mine Planning process.

You will be the key driver with improving and maintaining the MinRes resource governance processes including assisting Mineral Resource Competent Persons.

For this position you will be reporting directly to the Principle Resource Geologist and have the benefit to be located at our new state of the art Head Office in Osborne Park, which is set to be the best office facility in Australia.

**Key deliverables**:

- Review and develop short
- and medium-term planning iron ore models for the MinRes Operations
- Develop iron ore domains for grade estimation and undertake analysis to determine inputs into estimations appropriate to the style of mineralisation being modelled
- Ensure planning models and ore control models are constructed and classified in accordance with agreed risk classifications
- Assist in undertaking technical reviews of operational ore control processes and advanced Brownfields projects
- Ensure that all work is delivered on time and budget, establish and maintain project schedules
- Assist in preparing regular reconciliation and project reports as required
- Establish and regularly maintain suitably detailed Planning model schedules
- Assist in preparing regular project reports and other briefing papers and reports as required

**What you’ll bring to the team**:

- Tertiary level education in Geology or Economic Geology
- 10+ years Metalliferous Geology experience at a Senior or Specialist level
- Post graduate qualification in Geostatistics
- Sound understanding of Resource Estimation principles and practices
- Strong 3D modelling capabilities using either Micromine, Vulcan and Leapfrog
- Strong understanding of QAQC principles and practices
- Skilled user of acQuire database
- Strong understanding of reconciliation principles and practices
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
- Well-developed communication skills
- both oral and written
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Meet deadlines and manage priorities to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail
