**About the Company**

Located in Rozelle, the role is responsible for providing proactive and reactive media and public relations management, involving traditional and social media channels within NSW Government. This role is a Hybrid work role, paying $55.63 p/h + super on a 3-month contract.

**About the Role**

We are currently seeking to appoint a Media Officer. you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing the organization's media communications. This position demands a versatile individual with strong communication skills, adeptness in media relations, and the ability to effectively convey the business’ message to various stakeholders and the public.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Research and prepare content for the issuing of media statements, releases, and commentary under direction of the Manager and approval of the Executive.
- Monitor state-wide media, prepare material for public engagements, and respond to media issues and inquiries out of hours.
- Support the organisation in providing strategic communication and media advice.
- Coordinate event management and preparation for public appearances and writing of material for public speaking by senior management, to ensure event objectives are achieved.
- Provide regular insights into social media content and platform performance using analytics tools.

**About You**
- Excellent Communication skills
- Background in government communications, media, PR or similar.
- Provide effective, timely and accurate advice and assistance to ensure alignment of all public affairs and media matters, requiring management.
