**Role Description/Criteria**

Christ the Priest (CtP) Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.

The successful applicant will be a skilled classroom practitioner with a passion for increasing the overall mental health and wellbeing of all stakeholders of a primary school. The Mental Health and Wellbeing role will involve promoting a whole school approach to mental health, participating in communities of practice and building community capacity/awareness of mental health.

6 month contract appointment. An ongoing teacher position is an option.

**Selection Criteria**:
1. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to student wellbeing.

2. Capacity to self-direct and coordinate plans, documentation and reports associated with the program.

3. Assist and collaborate with teachers in the implementation of programs and school-wide initiatives through mentoring, coaching and modelling.

4. Knowledge of the classroom context, better-enabling implementation of curriculum-based, positive mental health practices.

**Special Requirements**

The successful applicant should:

- accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is desirable.
- be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
- have read and be committed to maintaining the standards as set out in our Child Safe Code of Conduct
- have read, and be aware of, the attached statement on the 'Principles Regarding Catholic Education' and our Privacy statement.
- hold a current VIT registration
