**Who we are?**
We are Lingua Franca, and we’re known as the happy place to learn French.
Established in 2009, we’re an award-winning French language school for adults, in New Farm, Brisbane.
Owner Katrina Waugh started out tutoring French privately to people in their homes and workplaces, before expanding to group lessons held in cafés and bookstores.
In 2014, we moved into our first premises and in 2016 won the Telstra Queensland Micro business of the year.
We then designed and wrote our proprietary learning system, which takes students from absolute beginners to advanced speakers of French.
Over time, we added French-inspired events and overseas immersion trips and designed and produced a range of bespoke French learning aids and gifts, so we now offer a comprehensive French learning experience which we’re really proud of.

In this role you will be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to:
**Acting as first point of contact for the school**:
- welcoming visitors,
**Managing tutors and students schedules**:
- creating and maintaining class schedules in calendar,
- creating and maintaining class schedules on website and
- communicating changes to schedules to tutors and customers.
**Day to day management of office**:
- maintaining a warm, welcoming and organised office environment,
- ordering office and classroom supplies,
- Receiving, processing and distributing deliveries,
- Maintaining communication with vendors and service providers,
- Taking payments at the desk and over the phone using EFTPOS machine,
- Processing students invoices in the accounting system,
- Preparing classrooms for daytime and evening classes,
- Occasionally creating and formatting presentations and reports,
- Accurately recording business activities in CRM platform,
- Managing inter-office communication channels and
- Document management.
**Required Skills and Experience**
- Effective communicator with impeccable presentation and phone manner.
- Highly organised.
- Able to multi-task and prioritise work.
- Strong time management skills.
- Excellent computer skills with a high degree of accuracy. Good capabilities with Mac software and general computer use.
- Able to learn new skills and use new systems.
- Previous administrative experience in a small business environment is highly desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of how to best support both the principal and team.
- French language is also highly desirable but not essential.
**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
