Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP) is looking for a motivated and hands-on Merchandise Store Person to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of merchandise management for high-profile events. In this role, you will lead a team of stock runners, counters, and display staff, while overseeing all aspects of event merchandise stock. **About the Role**
Reporting to the Merchandise Team Leader, the Merchandise Store Person will manage the day-to-day stock operations at M&OP events, ensuring stock is accurately handled, inventory processes are followed, and client requests are met promptly. You will oversee the work of your team, ensuring safety procedures are adhered to while delivering outstanding service to both internal stakeholders and clients. This role is ideal for someone who excels in team leadership, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives under pressure. This role requires flexible availability, particularly for morning and early afternoons shifts.

**Team Leadership**
You’ll lead a team of merchandise staff, ensuring safety procedures are followed, manual handling is done correctly, and all staff members are equipped with the appropriate PPE.
**Stock Management**
You’ll oversee stock intake, transfers, and counts, ensuring accuracy at every stage of the process. You’ll collaborate with clients on stock levels, display requests, and sales activity to meet their needs on time.
**Client Liaison**
You’ll build strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their specific requests for displays, stock, and sales activity are carried out effectively and efficiently.
**Settlement Process**
You’ll be responsible for completing the Event Merchandise Settlement, including reconciling stock, event details, and wages information, ensuring everything is documented accurately.
**What you will bring to the role**:
- Flexible availability for mornings and early afternoons shifts.
- Proven experience in merchandise or stock management, with strong leadership skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in stock counts and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in Excel and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to communicate issues and solutions effectively.
- A passion for new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and drive innovation in stock management.
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.
