**THE ROLE**

Reporting to General Counsel and EGM Company Secretariat, Risk & Governance, this role is a key leadership role in the Legal team leading the Enterprise Risk and Assurance teams. The General Manager - Risk & Assurance will be accountable for supporting the business in managing its risks and providing assurance that key controls are effective.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring that Origin has effective frameworks, standards, systems and processes in place for identifying, assessing and managing risk and providing assurance (excluding Internal Audit)
- Preparation and/or coordination of Board Risk Committee and ELT Risk Committee agendas, schedules and reporting
- Supporting the business to embed sound risk management practices across the Lines of Defence, leveraging a Risk Partnering model
- Providing guidance and independent "check and challenge" to ensure risks management requirements are consistently implemented across Origin
- Planning and executing the second line Enterprise assurance program, including coordinating with other risk and assurance providers across Origin's Lines of Defence
- Provides assurance to the Board and Management that risk management activities are appropriate and effective in identifying and managing risk across the business to meet Origin's Corporate Governance requirements
- Lead “top down” strategic and emerging risk assessments/analysis, including assessing Origin-wide/cross BU risks, and major project risks
- Ensuring the right capability is deployed towards the highest risk and assurance priorities and gaps and duplication are minimised

The role includes the operational management of the function - resourcing (including co-source provider management) and financial management and budget ownership for the areas of responsibility. The role may also be involved in risk management and assurance activity covering special reviews and investigations.

**IS THIS YOU?**

You will have experience working in a similar role in a business of appropriate scale and complexity, leading and developing teams. With the ability to adapt to changing business environments, building strong stakeholder relationships and be outcomes orientated.

You will also have or can demonstrate:

- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field (e.g. accounting, law, finance, governance)
- Exceptional relationship builder and communicator
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience working at Board and Executive management level
- Held roles across Enterprise Risk and Assurance
- High integrity and personal and professional standards
- Post graduate qualifications (highly regarded)
