We are a dynamic local government organisation serving a community of approximately 60,000 people. We are excited to establish a new compliance and enforcement function within our Regulatory Services Group to better serve our community.

**About the Opportunity**:
We are looking for a full-time **Manager of Compliance and Enforcement** based in **Rosny, Tasmania.**

This is a newly established role, offering the unique opportunity to lead a new compliance and enforcement function, with oversight of the enforcement, building and plumbing, and the ranger services teams.

Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Services, you will lead complex and cross-Group compliance efforts, ensuring strategic alignment, consistency, and effective progression of enforcement activities, driving enforcement, compliance and regulatory excellence.

You will also act as the primary permit authority for the organisation.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Coordinating and reviewing the conduct of investigations into complex compliance matters.
- Establishing and managing regulatory structures and strategic objectives.
- Working closely with courts and tribunals to ensure compliance is upheld.
- Managing budgets and allocating resources effectively.
- Building strong relationships within the council and the community.
- Balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on involvement where needed.

**About You**:
To qualify, you will need:

- A **Diploma or Degree level qualification** in regulatory services, compliance or related discipline.
- **Relevant leadership experience** in a compliance or regulatory role.
- A minimum of **5 years of regulatory experience**.
- A **Tasmanian driver’s licence**.
- A **Working With Vulnerable People Check**.

Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:

- Proven people management skills, with the ability to mentor and coach others.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to set strategic objectives and guide others towards achieving them.
- Experience in working within or alongside local government and regulatory bodies.
- Capability to determine when to escalate issues and when to address them independently.
