**The Role**

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and highly motivated HSEQ Manager to join the WEM Civil team. This key leadership role will be pivotal in shaping WEM Civil's commitment to excellence in HSEQ, ensuring adherence to WHS obligations and environmental and quality standards and fostering a positive safety culture.

**In this position, you will**:

- Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team, formulating and executing the HSEQ Strategy and providing advice, recommendations, and risk mitigation solutions on HSEQ matters.
- Facilitate compliance with WHS obligations and environmental and quality legislative requirements, including developing and reviewing SWMS, JSAs, etc.
- Foster and sustain a positive HSEQ culture, reduce incidents, and minimise environmental impact across WEM Civil's operations.
- Promote employee engagement and awareness of HSEQ principles.
- Work with the Senior HSEQ Officer to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with HSEQ matters.
- Oversee investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee integrated management systems, ensuring effective implementation aligned with industry standards, client needs, and ongoing certification. Oversee the ISO accreditation process to maintain and uphold our accreditations.
- Implement proactive measures to enhance safety and quality while minimising environmental impact.
- Identify, design, and enable the delivery of appropriate health and safety training as required throughout the organisation.
- Represent WEM Civil in HSEQ matters, including external audits. Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance and foster positive relationships.
- Collaborate with project teams to implement quality control measures and resolve quality-related issues.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement in HSEQ practices.

**We are looking for someone who has**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in WH&S.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, previous experience within the construction industry would be beneficial.
- Proficient in Environmental Management, Quality Systems, and safety legislation.
- Expertise in policy and document writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-orientated mindset.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong leadership experience and skills in advising and coaching diverse groups.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
