**About the Role**

The Youth Community Engagement & Development Officer will work with high schools and partners to deliver a range of community development activities across the schools as outlined in contract work plans with a community development key areas of focus. The position will include planning and co-designing with youth, coordinating, implementing and evaluating a range of community, creative, leadership, social and economic initiatives across Logan High Schools..

**About You and The Role**

You will have a collaborative nature and a be a person who enjoys building and maintaining positive relationships with all members of staff, funding bodies and contacts within and outside the organization. you will also possess the ability to identify stakeholder needs, their values and how to motivate them.
- You will have overall supervision and responsible for the delivery of programs and activities that are culturally sensitive and of a quality standard, plus meet the work plan requirements across the community development team.
- You will have experience of the implementation of monitoring and evaluation strategies to include that all the necessary and appropriate data is collected to monitor the outcomes of the projects and supports the collection of evidence.
- Participation in direct and indirect advocacy and contribution to responses and submissions to government and sector issues papers plus the feedback requests.
- you will develop, implement, and monitor processes ensuring efficiency and effective service delivery across teams with a co-design framework
- Building and fostering links with Cultural Leaders, CALD Communities and groups is an essential part of the role, **_fostering_** on empowerment, capacity building and advocacy to strengthen multiculturalism across Queensland.
- Representing ACSL at key events and meetings, committees, conferences, and public forums where you will promote and improve perceptions of ACSL and its programs within the community
- Regularly participate in organisational programs and events.

**Selection Criteria**
- Either five years equivalent experience or Tertiary qualifications in Community Development/Development studies or relevant Discipline
- Demonstrated experience in working with marginalised communities and an understanding of settlement issues relevant to people from a CALD background
- Strong Knowledge and understanding of project management and community engagement strategies in the multicultural sector including relevant government policies and programs
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal constructively with complex and sometimes conflicting situations
- Policy formulation, development, and implementation experience with demonstrated strong negotiation and decision-making skills
- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills including across sectors, localities, and areas of work
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of culturally appropriate and sensitive services to people of CALD background is DESIRABLE
