**The Role**

As our PALM Scheme Manager, you will continue to position the ALA Group as experts and respected industry leaders in Pacific and Timorese labour workforce provision. This is a leadership role that will see you leading and managing a diverse team responsible for the planning, coordination and day-to-day activities related to the welfare and wellbeing of the PALM Scheme workers.

You’ll be working closely with our senior leadership team and external stakeholders, including our counterparts at the Pacific Labour Facility, the Australian and Pacific Governments, Diplomatic Missions staff, Australian communities and local Pacific diaspora, with key responsibilities including:

- Building and maintaining high priority, productive working relationships at an international and national levels.
- Ensuring regular engagement with the Australian Government departments administering the PALM Scheme on a range of topics and program related developments and issues.
- Coordinating engagement with in-country Labour Sending Units and authorities to facilitate smooth worker recruitment and associated arrangements such as visas, documentation and travel plans.
- Identifying and engaging local Australian organisations to understand community issues to better support workers post-arrival.
- Liaising with account managers and clients to conduct Quality Assurance activities in order to meet the relevant Government’s regulatory requirements and ALA Group’s obligations under the PALM Scheme.
- Organising and engaging stakeholders in community and networking events for workers and local community/diaspora members.

**What we’re looking for**

As our future PALM Scheme Manager, you will have:

- A degree in International Relations, Development or similar
- Proven experience in program or project management in challenging or fast-paced environments
- Demonstrated cross cultural competencies in relation to working with people from the Pacific and Timor-Leste or similar.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a team, including remotely
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, with demonstrated experience in using communications strategically
- A keen interest in the Pacific culture, labour mobility and worker welfare
- A passion in making a difference in people’s lives
