
Safety Superintendent

**About The Role**:
As **Safety Superintendent** you will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager. You'll work with the **Newcastle Rod Mill Lead Team** as well as across the business as part of a wider safety network. You will be energetic and passionate about working with and providing strong leadership to the business ensuring our WHS risks are managed.

**Your responsibilities will include;**
- Partner with stakeholders to identify, assess and then implement improvements in safety and wellbeing.
- Supporting the Manufacturing Manager and Newcastle Rod Mill Lead team by championing the site WHS committee, and sub committees, and providing guidance and support for WHS representatives.
- Provide expertise and coaching in detailed event investigation as well as risk management processes and systems.
- Facilitating return to work on site working with the site Health Centre.
- Providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable InfraBuild WHS Policies and Global Standards.
- Developing local site WHS procedures and processes to meet InfraBuild Standards
- Develop and deliver safety related training to the teams on site
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, health, safety, or a related field
- Post Graduate qualifications in safety, or occupational hygiene
- Expertise in safety programs across manufacturing, production, or service operations
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Have a thorough understanding of Australian WHS legislation, particularly with NSW context and subordinate legislation and codes of practice.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Experience with regulators (e.g., SafeWork NSW)
- Experience with OHSAS 18001 and Self-insurance frameworks
- Injury management and return to work
