Role Summary
Applications are sought from suitably qualified and motivated individuals wishing to be considered for the role of Team Leader, Reporting and Support Team within the Integrated Portfolio Office (IPO). We are looking to fill an ongoing Band 7 vacancy and will be seeking to establish a merit pool for future use.
The IPO maintains and manages the Program & Project Management Framework (PMF) which provides the principles and standards required to enable outcomes, change and benefits for the AFP and applies to all initiatives funded by the AFP Investment Plan. The IPO uses the PMF to categorise those initiatives into either a Program, Complex Project, Simple Project or Standalone Procurement, which determines the level of governance, management, reporting and assurance processes required.
As a Team Leader within the Reporting and Support team, your role will be to manage and provide support, gather and analyse data from the AFP initiatives funded by the AFP Investment Plan, and write Executive Reporting Briefs to key committees.
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
Role Description & Responsibilities
As a Team Leader within the IPO your key responsibilities include:
Lead routine investigative research and analysis of Program and Project status/delivery to inform executive-level decision making at AFP Strategic Committees.
Develop and facilitate high level report/brief writing and manage expectations
Work collaboratively with AFP Finance on Investment Plan Initiatives and ensure alignment with the AFP’s Program and Project Management Framework (PMF).
Provide advice and assist with the effective management of the Investment Plan funding allocation and StrategyDotZero (SDZ) reporting tool
Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
Engaging directly with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships.
Provide direction and work effectively in a small team environment.
Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members.
Proactively identify opportunities to promote continuous improvement and facilitate cooperation.
Model the AFP’s Core Values and maintain the highest level of professional standards.
Essential Requirements
Must be an Australian citizen
A thorough understanding of the AFP PMF and how it applies to Programs and Projects
Demonstrated experience in Program/Project Management, Reporting, Support and Assurance
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in a small team and have ability to complete tasks with limited guidance.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
