**Description**:
Spectran Traffic Management is growing and we are seeking Traffic Controllers to join our busy team. Multiple positions are available for experienced Traffic Controllers and those new to the industry.

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- Coordinating, setting up, managing and traffic control.
- Directing traffic around areas of disruption, such as roadworks, accidents, building sites, events and planned maintenance.
- Directing pedestrians to maintain safety around changed vehicle and road conditions.
- Communicating via two-way radio with other road traffic team members, emergency response teams and construction workers to give and receive updates on traffic and conditions.
- Operating road signs, such as a Stop/Slow bat, and using hand signals to direct flow of traffic and pedestrians.
- Explaining operations and answering driver and pedestrian questions.
- Communicating and taking directions from Spectran representatives, traffic authority workers, construction project managers, police officers, paramedics, firefighters, auditors, and government officials.
- Direct vehicles and pedestrian traffic around construction zones; ensuring the safety of construction workers and the general public.
- Complete site checks and monitor traffic behaviour and/or flow to ensure safety is always maintained.
- Will be required to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
- Be prepared to work varying shifts including days, nights, and weekends desirable.
- Ability to work on different work sites including construction, maintenance, event management, and emergency works
- Have good communication and sequential planning skills.
- Ability to be professional when interacting with members of the public and others.
- Be of good character and have current police check or be prepared to obtain one.
- Drive a manual vehicle with a current driver’s licence (desirable)
- Appropriate fitness for work - eyesight, hearing, good mobility, endurance, and concentration, etc.
- Be able to use and respond to with various apps on a smart phone or tablet

**Qualifications**

To be considered for this role you will need or be willing to get the following accredited qualifications which are current and not expired:

- Traffic Tickets - Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat & Implement Traffic Management Plan
- White Card - Construction Industry

**Other requirements**
- Hold a valid driver’s licence (Ability to drive Manual Preferred)
- Be able to pass a drug test when requested
- Have own transport
- Available for day and night work.

Note this is casual work with shifts allocated based on work available and your availability

**Role Type**:

- In-house - Temporary - Part-time - Entry level

**Pay Rate**:

- 30 AUD - 31.93 AUD (Hour)
