The Actuarial Manager will be responsible for the following:

- Develop and maintain actuarial reserving processes to comply with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Development and review of monitoring processes to support the reserving function.
- Collaborating with underwriting, finance and claims to gather relevant insights for reserving.
- Maintain loss projection models for premium liabilities.
- Responsible for preparing regulatory reporting deliverables.
- Engaging with external auditors and reviewing actuaries.
- Supporting the Finance team to report insurance liabilities under Australian and US GAAP.
- Maintaining suitable financial projections for the business.
- Supporting capital management processes for the ICAAP.
- Undertaking ad hoc investigations into specific areas or topics of interest where actuarial advice is to be provided.
- Assisting with the continued evolution of business processes.
- Foster development of junior members of the actuarial team.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong knowledge of actuarial valuation techniques and processes, with a view on best practices.
- Strong technical and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with SAS, Snowflake, Python or R is preferred.
- Robust inter-personal skills and willingness/ ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team.
- Working knowledge of Australian GAAP accounting for insurance and reinsurance.
- Orientation towards results, curiosity, integrity, and self-direction.

Education & Experience:

- 5+ years of prior experience working in general insurance (with significant experience in valuations) strongly preferred
- Experience in LMI would be highly regarded but is not essential.
