**The Role**
FOI Review Case Manager (APS 6)
The management of internal and external review cases following an original decision on a request for access to documents under the FOI Act is a key focus of the FOI Review Case Manager position.

You will engage with review applicants, relevant business areas, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and the Accredited Decision Maker to manage and prepare timely, accurate review decisions (for internal review) and submissions (for external reviews) and provide comprehensive advice on the cases.

As an Assistant Director you will provide high level strategic advice on Freedom of Information (FOI) matters under review. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders, applicants and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner when conducting internal reviews to ensure that Defence complies with its legislative obligations.

You will be responsible for managing more complex and sensitive FOI cases, including working with external legal service providers in relation to cases being reviewed by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

**About our Team**
The Freedom of Information team is responsible for enabling Defence to meet its legislative responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act). The FOI Review team strategically manages all internal and external review requests and complaints made under the FOI Act.

You will embody the One Defence leadership behaviours and conduct yourself in accordance with the highest ethical behaviours.

Prior knowledge and experience working in a Freedom of Information area for a Government department is highly sought after.
